Pianist Polli Chambers-Salazar is scheduled to perform ‘Summerland’ by William Grant Still during POLITICS of MUSIC concert June 29, 2020, Music Center’s Walt Disney Concert Hall. ‘Summerland’ is a popular vision of beauty in the afterlife. Polli Chamber-Salazar recorded solo piano music by Beethoven, Chopin, Rachmaninoff, Boulanger and Afro-European Samuel Coleridge-Taylor in her CD, First Flight, which has been featured on KUSC Classical Radio.
Dr. Chambers-Salazar is the author of Essential Piano Techniques: A Guide to Practice and Performance, published by Kendall Hunt. She received her Doctorate of Musical Arts degree in Piano Performance from the University of Southern California, and is currently the Director of Piano Studies at El Camino College.
