Help us plant 100 new trees in memory of former Long Beach Fire Captain Otis Reid at a #IDigLB tree planting on Sat, Oct. 20, from 9:00 am to noon, at 1800 E. Anaheim St.
Captain Reid was the first African American Firefighter hired by the Long Beach, California Fire Department on July 1, 1962, serving until his retirement in 1989. Otis Reid passed on December 23rd, 2017.
Please join a team of neighbors, volunteers and City of Long Beach staff to plant trees. Trees reduce greenhouse gases, provide habitat, reduce cooling costs, and increase property values. You can help make a difference.
All tools and supplies will be provided. For more information, please call the Long Beach Housing and Neighborhood Services Bureau at 562-570-6866
