50th Anniversary of the 1965 Watts Riots (aka Watts Rebellion) included pre concert talk and featured performance by Watts-Willowbrook Youth Chamber Orchestra conducted by Joseph Taylor. Joseph Taylor was also conductor of the Watts-Willowbrook Symphony Orchestra. Springdale West Apartments in Long Beach was a recruitment/workshop (ages 6-18) location. Joseph Taylor also conducted the Bellflower Symphony and MusicUNTOLD Symphony
