The LACO orchestra did not include any recognizable players of\u00a0 African descent.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>March 19, 2022 I attended a\u00a0wonderful Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra concert at UCLA Royce Hall in Los Angeles that included African American guest conductor Roderick Cox\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.roderickcox.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=http:\/\/www.roderickcox.com\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1647990300694000&amp;usg=AOvVaw0J3tpFTnVvNqZnTqFs1rRV\">http:\/\/www.roderickcox.com\/<\/a>\u00a0and African American violinist Randall Goosby\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/randallgoosby.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/randallgoosby.com\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1647990300694000&amp;usg=AOvVaw1bdlyynmGoyYlWRi6oRScD\">https:\/\/randallgoosby.<wbr \/>com\/<\/a> in a program of composers Wagner, Mendelssoh+ Brahms. From my seating view, I could see two players of African descent in the LACO Orchestra.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The Long Beach Central Area Association\/MusicUNTOLD is a community partner of LACO and we invited guests to the concert. Some of our guests did not arrive until a few minutes before the start of the concert and missed our group photo. Please see the LBCAA\/MusicUNTOLD group that arrived early enough for this photo.
