I am a friend of both composer Adolphus Hailstork and pianist\/radio host Laura Downes. Lara&#8217;s many and assorted projects to perform, record, and heighten awareness of neglected composers of African descent in classical music has been monumental over the past couple of years. However, Lara&#8217;s interest and efforts are not limited by genre.
