DSO strings are featured in Philip Herbert\u2019s remembrance of a Black British teenager murdered in an act of racist violence<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong>Friday September 18<\/strong><br \/>WALKER: Lyric for Strings<br \/>STILL: Serenade for Orchestra<br \/>CHEVALIER DE SAINT-GEORGES: Symphony No. 1 in G major<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Highly varied in style, George Walker\u2019s elegiac Lyric for Strings and William Grant Still\u2019s expressive Serenade showcase mid-20th century works from two prominent African American composers.
